How to Figure the Small Power Rate
Base Rate
Customer Charge:
$29.20
Maximum Load Charge:
$7.01 per KW
Energy Charge:
The First 200 Hours use of Billing Maximum Load $0.03922
All over 200 Hours use of Billing Maximum Load $0.03028
Minimum bill is 20 KW
Example
Suppose you used 50,000 KWH and had a maximum load of 80 KW.
- Your bill would start with the $29.20 customer charge.
- Your maximum load charge would be 80 KW multiplied by $7.01, which is $560.80.
- Your first 200 hours use of billing maximum load would be 200 multiplied by 80 KW which is 16,000 multiplied by $0.03922 which is $627.52.
- All above 200 hours use of billing maximum load would be 50,000 KWH minus 16,000 KWH = 34,000 KWH multiplied by $0.03028 = $1,029.52.
- Your base cost would be the total of these charges plus sales tax.
Tracker
In addition to the base rate charge there is arate adjustment based upon the cost of purchased power. This
can be a positive or negative figure. Because this changes every three months, it is not used in the example.
