Anderson Municipal Light & Power, for residential services, owns the Overhead or Underground service line as well as the electric meter
Residential customers of Anderson Municipal Light & Power are responsible for the attachment hardware, weatherhead, riser, and meter box.
A licensed electrician should be used to do this installation of a new or updated service.
Please keep in mind:
- If the meter box is pulled away from the house and there is no power to the home, the homeowner is responsible for contacting an electrician
for a permenant fix. There may be a case where an inspection is required before Anderson Municipal Light & Power will be able to re-connnect
the service. The electrician should know the steps involved to be reconnected.
- If the meter box is pulled away from the house and the home has power, the customer should call a licensed electrician to re-attach the meter
box again. An inspection may be necessary for power to be fully restored.
