How to Figure the Small Power Rate
Base Rate
Customer Charge:
$25.00
Maximum Load Charge:
$6.00 per KW
Energy Charge:
The First 200 Hours use of Billing Maximum Load $0.03358
All over 200 Hours use of Billing Maximum Load $0.02592
Minimum bill is 20 KW
Example
Suppose you used 50,000 KWH and had a maximum load of 80 KW.
- Your bill would start with the $25.00 customer charge.
- Your maximum load charge would be 80 KW multiplied by $6.00, which is $480.00.
- Your first 200 hours use of billing maximum load would be 200 multiplied by 80 KW which is 16,000 multiplied by $0.03358 which is $537.28.
- All above 200 hours use of billing maximum load would be 50,000 KWH minus 16,000 KWH = 34,000 KWH multiplied by $0.02592 = $915.28.
- Your total base cost with tax is $2,055.44.
Tracker
In addition to the base rate charge there is arate adjustment based upon the cost of purchased power. This
can be a positive or negative figure. Because this changes every three months, it is not used in the example.
